STELLA McCARTNEY | Sustainable Luxury

Born and raised in London and the English countryside, Stella McCartney graduated from Central St Martins in 1995.  A signature style of sharp tailoring, natural confidence, and sexy femininity were immediately apparent in her first collection and after only two collections, in 1997, she was appointed the Creative Director of Chloe in Paris and enjoyed great success during her tenure.

Stella McCartney launched her own fashion house under her name in a partnership with Kering as a 50/50 joint venture and showed her first collection in Paris in October 2001.  A lifelong vegetarian, Stella McCartney does not use any leather or fur in her designs. Her collections include women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, accessories, lingerie, eyewear, fragrance and kids.

Stella McCartney’s commitment to sustainability is evident throughout all her collections and is part of the brand’s ethos to being a responsible, honest, and modern company.

RESPECT FOR NATURE

We believe in respecting the environment and working with nature instead of against it. By continuing to source as many sustainable materials as possible, we hope to enrich the environment and protect it for the future.

Cashmere is one of the most valuable natural materials in fashion and we are helping to protect the future of this incredible material by redefining ‘waste’. We aim to prove that it is possible to create luxurious products without causing unnecessary harm to the planet.

RESPECT FOR PEOPLE

The future of fashion relies on people, including those who make clothes, the farmers who grow the crops, our employees and customers. We want to ensure a positive impact on the people we depend on and those who depend on us in return.

RESPECT FOR ANIMALS

As a vegetarian brand, we believe in treating animals and their habitats with respect. We promote a cruelty-free ethos and continue to innovate ways of creating sustainable materials.
